The Beginning

Ok, so here's my first post. Not exactly sure what to say here....don't worry, I will think of something, as I sit here listening to Ferras (who is amazing, by the way!). I almost always do. Also, I'm not too sure who will actually read this....we will see I guess! So first off, I guess I am starting this now, instead of next Fall, because I feel like I should write before I go, as well as while I am there. Where is there you say? Well Uganda! I decided (or I should say, God decided), that next year, after I graduate (a year early!) from High School, in May....I am headed over to live in Jinja, Uganda...Africa...for three to six months (starting in October), to serve and do missions work through an organization called Light Gives Heat and their project called Suubi (which means "Hope" in the native language). The Lord has been laying this on my heart, and might I say very heavily, throughout this last year. However, I have felt called to missions since I was twelve years old. I am so very thankful to have been given this opportunity! How great is our God! Pretty much, if you have heard "Give Me Your Eyes" by Brandon Heath, that is my theme song to life right now! I am so far from perfect, yet God still blesses me, and provides! I always knew I wanted to go do something amazing, or as close to amazing as I could get, for Him. But as usual, I underestimated my Lord...but guess what? He totally proved me wrong (again!), and here I am...ten months before I leave for this great journey, to help His people in Jinja...the widowed women and orphans from the war with the LRA, who are hurting and broken. I pray He prepares me for this work, and that I will be of as much help as possible. I am so amazed and greatful that the Lord would use someone as ridiculous and selfish and sinful as myself, to do His work. What can I say? We serve an AWESOME God! The End, for now. :)
